I spent a few minutes talking with Coach Jones, 2015 Ivy League Coach of the Year, over the phone. We primarily discussed 2015 Ivy Player of the Year, Senior, Justin Sears. Yale is tooling up for a big season after coming up one game short of reaching the NCAA Tournament. Coach Jones has the team prepared to make a strong push and it starts with Sears. The interview was brief but Coach Jones was open to all questions.
Kevin NESR: How would you describe Justin (Sears) as an overall person and student athlete?
Coach Jones: Justin is one of the best people you can ever come in contact with. He has grown tremendously and understands what it means to be a student-athlete
Kevin NESR: What are your thoughts in regards to his development as a player since he first stepped foot on campus?
Coach Jones: He has gotten bigger and stronger since joining the program. He has bought into the system, which has helped him develop overall. He has continuously improved and continues to play hard with full effort.
Kevin NESR: What are somethings you feel he needs to work on in order to play at the next level?
Coach Jones: Currently he is an undersized post with good length. His true position could be the 3, but he needs to improve and develop his guard skills, something he has done.
Special Thank You to Coach Jones. Best of luck this season.
